Dutch Amateur Championship 10 - 13th of August 2023

We are very pleased to announce that the Eindhovensche Golf, in close co-operation with the Royal Dutch Golf Federation, will host the 23nd Dutch Amateur Championship from 10th till the 13th August 2023. 72 holes international strokeplay amateur event in The Netherlands has been played since 1898. With a field of 102 men and 42 women, the tournament has grown into a unique and increasingly international event. It has been part of the EGA-calendar for many years.

It is our joint ambition to further grow the event, thus, the Eindhovensche golf, the Royal Dutch Golf Federation and the European Golf Association are currently working closely together in order to give the Dutch Amateur Championship an even greater exposure in the international amateur golfing scene.

Dutch Amateur Championship:

A 4 days 72 holes Strokeplay tournament which is the leading international amateur event in The Netherlands. The field (144 players) will consist of:

  • 102 Men
  • 42 Ladies

Nations Trophy:

The Nations Trophy is open for teams of minimum two and maximum three players that must be entered by their home Federation. Each country may be represented by a maximum of three teams. The Trophy (36 holes Strokeplay) will take place during the first 2 rounds on August 10 and 11. For the final results the aggregate of the best two scores out of three on each round will count. For the final results the aggregate of the best two scores out of three on each round will count. In case of a tie the team with the lowest individual score will be proclaimed the winner. If this also results in a tie, the last 18, 9, 6, 3, 1 holes of the lowest individual score will be compared until a winner is declared. Prizes will be awarded to the first and second team.

Entries:

Entries should be submitted online here. Deadline for entries is 27th of July 2023 at 23:59. Only complete entries will be included in the draw.

Registration:

On-site registration is possible on Wednesday 9th of August from 15:00 - 18:00 or 10th of August (well) before the first round.

Registration Fee:

The registration fee is € 195,00 per person, which includes:

  • One 18-holes practice round
  • Use of the practice facilities
  • Welcome drink at the opening ceremony on Wednesday 9th of August
  • Lunch and dinner on Thursday 10th and Friday 11th of August
  • Lunch on Saterday 12th and Sunday 13th of August
  • Free shuttle service from the Van der Valk hotel and the Bastion Hotel Eindhoven to the Eindhovensche Golf on 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th of August

The fee needs to be transferred via the provided link to the Eindhovensche Golf at the moment of registration. Players who register will receive a message containing a payment link and a request to upload a WHS certificate. Once both requirements are met, the player has officially registered. Players who do not make it into the field of participants or withdraw on time will be reimbursed with their original payment.

Practice Round:

From 2nd to 9th of August it is possible to book a tee time for your practice round. For each player in the tournament one practice round is free of charge. The fee of an additional round is €50,- and €20,- for players under the age of 21.

Hotel Accomodation:

The Bastion Hotel in Eindhoven offers a preferential rate for participants in the Dutch Amateur Championship. You can use below link to make a reservation:

Reservations at the Bastion Hotel in Eindhoven can be made by following the instructions on their website. A shuttle service is available for transport between the Bastion Hotel and the golf course. Additionally, players can opt for another nearby hotel, Van der Valk Hotel Eindhoven, from which also shuttle/transport will be accommodated. It does not have an event-specific rate or discount.

Eligibility Men:

Any amateur player in possession of their National Federation card or membership of a recognized golfclub, with an WHS index of 1.0 or better is eligible to enter.

All entries will be subject to the approval of the Championship Committee, which reserves the right to accept any entry. Moreover, already previously accepted entrants can also be removed from the starting list, if the Championship Committee sees reason to do so.

The starting field will comprise of 102 competitors. Any entrant in at least one of the following categories will be allocated a place in the starting field:

  1. Current US Amateur, European Amateur, British Amateur and Dutch Amateur Champions.
  2. Playing members of the five leading teams and ties in the last edition of the Eisenhower Trophy.
  3. Team members making the semi-finals in the last edition of the European Men’s Team Championship.
  4. The current European Boys Team Champions.
  5. Team members who participated in the last edition of the St Andrews Trophy, the Jacques Leglisé Trophy, Arnold Palmer Cup, and the Michael Bonallack Trophy.
  6. Winner Dutch National Championship strokeplay (all ages).
  7. Winner Dutch National Championship strokeplay (under-18).
  8. NGF top-10 ranked players at the date of closure: 27th of July.
  9. Five players nominated by the Eindhovensche Golf.
  10. Five players nominated by the Committee of the Dutch Amateur Championship at its own discretion.
  11. The highest ranked entrants with WAGR (1 – 2000) at the date of closure: 27th of July.

In the case when categories 1 – 11 will not result in a starting field of 102 men, the rest of the places will be allocated on the basis of WHS index.

When a National Federation enters three players that meet the selection criteria, a fourth player can be entered by the same National Federation without having to meet the selection criteria (after approval of the Championship Committee).

Eligibility Women:

Any amateur player in possession of their National Federation card or membership of a recognized golfclub, with an WHS index of 5.0 or better is eligible to enter.

  2. Playing members of the five leading teams and ties in the last edition of the Espirito Santo Trophy.
  3. Team members making the semi-finals in the last edition of the European Ladies' Team Championship.
  4. The current European Girls Team Champions.
  5. Team members of the last edition of the Vagliano Tropy.
  6. Winner Dutch National Championship strokeplay (all ages).
  7. Winner Dutch National Championship strokeplay (under-18).
  8. NGF top-5 ranked players at the date of closure: 27th of July.
  9. Two players nominated by the Eindhovensche Golf.
  10. Three players nominated by the Committee of the Dutch Amateur Championship at its own discretion.
  11. The highest ranked entrants with WAGR (1 – 2000) at the date of closure: 27th of July.

In case when categories 1 – 11 will not result in a starting field of 42 women, the rest of the places will be allocated on the basis of WHS index.

Withdrawals

Withdrawals must be notified to the Dutch Amateur Championship Committee before 27th of July 23:59 CET. Players who violate this condition will not be able to participate in the next edition of this championship. In addition, players who fail to withdraw before this date will not be reimbursed with their originally paid entry fee. Players who wish to withdraw from the tournament can do so by sending an email to registration@dac.golf. Withdrawals due to injuries or illness after the 27th of July will be fully reimbursed only when the player provides a valid health certificate of a doctor.

Starting times

The Championship Committee reserves the right to rearrange and/or alter starting times. The participant must arrive at least 5 minutes prior to his/her starting time. If the participant arrives at his/her starting point ready to play within five minutes after his/her starting time, in the absence of circumstances that warrant waiving the penalty for disqualification as provided in Rule 5.3a, the penalty for failure to start on time is two strokes at the 1st hole instead of disqualification.

Waiting list:

Unsuccessful entrants will be placed on a waiting list ordered first by WAGR, followed by EGA ranking and best WHS index. Ties on the WHS index will be ordered by means of earliest registration date. Cancellations between the date of publication of the list of admitted players will be covered by the waiting list until the 9th of August. Driving range:

The driving range is free of charge and open from 07:00-10:30 and from 11:30-20:30.

Free trolleys are available (limited: first come, first served) and can be booked by phone (+31 402014816) or via e-mail to the Eindhovensche Golf: info@eindhovenschegolf.nl (caddiemaster). Deposit is € 25,00 cash.

Medical service:

Portrait Right:

The DAC committee reserves the right to record/use visual footage of all players and spectators over the course of the tournament (including practice day). This footage may be used for promotional purposes without any additional consent of the player.
